LOCATION AND DIRECTIONS
MonaCare Medical Services is a full services family practice facility operated by Dr. Andrew Greene. The office is centrally located on
the property of Blue Cross of Jamaica at 85 Hope Road, Kingston 6. Traveling in the direction to Half-Way-Tree from Liguanea, we are
less than 5 minutes drive from Liguanea.

MonaCare Medical Services is a full services family practice facility operated by Dr. Andrew Greene. The services offered includes
• General medical care for the entire family
• Management of chronic conditions requiring long term follow-up care.
• Minor surgical procedures
• All major vaccines
• Family planning services
• Wound care
• Nebulization for asthmatics
• Wellness promotion and preventive medical care
• Medicals for employment, drivers’ license, insurance etc.
WORKING HOURS
Our office is open Mondays to Saturdays during the hours 8am to 8pm. Dr. Greene is also available for home visits / consultations
which are by appointments only.
APPOINTMENTS
MonaCare Medical Services accepts walk in clients as well as by appointments. Appointments can be made by calling Nurse Battiest or
Nurse Hall and a specific date and time is given. Wednesdays are usually reserved for appointments to clients with chronic illness like
diabetics and hypertension.
OFFICE POLICY
FEES – A fee is charged for our services. This service may be an in office consultation, home consultations or even short verbal /
telephone consultations. A consultation is applicable when-ever the doctor provides medical advice, gives a prescription or performs a
medical procedure for a client. Our fees are very competitive and clients may call the office at any time to get current quotations.
DISCOUNTS – MonaCare offers discounts to all clients on the MonaCare Family Practice register and also to special groups like some
schools and business within the community. We are also open to negotiation with any group who may wish to be included in this
discounted category.
REVIEW – clients with more critical conditions will usually be given a review appointment for further follow-up care. Review
consultations are discounted. It is important the clients adhere to these review appointments as continuity of their medical care is very
important. Reviews are usually made within two weeks of the initial consultation.
FOLLOW-UP CARE - Clients suffering from chronic illnesses will require long term care and are therefore given follow-up appointment.
These appointments are treated as usual office consultations and may be given one to six months following a consultation.

MonaCare is committed to providing the highest level medical care service to clients seeking diagnosis and management of their
medical conditions. We recognize the benefits of early diagnosis and treatment and are also committed to ensuring that our
clients enjoy sustained good health and long life.
Here are some important steps you can take towards better health:
• Don’t smoke or use tobacco products
• Drink alcohol in moderation, if at all, and never drive when you’ve been drinking.
• Eat a diet low in fat & sweets and high in vegetables and fruits
• Exercise at least five times per week
• Wear your seat belt whenever you’re in a car
• Learn about ways to deal with stress and tension
• Discover what spirituality means to you and practice it.
• Maintain ties with your family, neighbor, co-workers or your church community.
• Have regular scheduled age and gender specific health checks.

PREVENTIVE CARE
Excellent health care begins with early diagnosis. At MonaCare we stress the importance of early diagnosis and interventions. We
recognize that common things are indeed common so conditions that commonly result in illness and death will require special and
early attention. In this regards we have created an age and gender specific schedule of health checks that all our family practice
clients adhere to. All major health indicators and issues are considered in the structure of this schedule. The result is a
comprehensive health screening protocol that encompasses the total person. It gives satisfaction to both the patient and doctor
than sufficient consideration is given to the important health risk issues and conditions that will impact on ones health. Indeed this
system maximizes the opportunity for early diagnosis.
MONACARE PREVENTIVE CARE PROTOCOL
Our schedule may be comprehensive but certainly not all inclusive. Clients are therefore reminded repeatedly about the need to
be observant and practice active surveillance for unusual occurrences. By so doing rare conditions will very likely appear on the
radar also at an early stage. The following schedule is presented as a guide to the generally healthy client outlining the main
health issues and recommended checks that should be considered during that annual wellness visit to the family doctor. For
those clients suffering from chronic illnesses, the schedule will be adjusted accordingly for more monitoring and care.

Our staff consists of a doctor, two nurses and an office attendant.
Dr. Andrew Greene has been in private practice for more than
fifteen years and has extensive experience in family medicine,
wellness promotion and preventive care.
The office is managed by Nurse Lorraine Battiest who attends to
the day to day operation of MonaCare Medical Services. Nurse
Naomi Hall is our part time nurse who assists nurse Battiest in
attending to patients and office matters. Ms. Gwendolyn Burrell is
our dedicated office attendant who ensures the office is kept in
excellent condition.
